Organic Hachiya Persimmons
Hachiya persimmons were introduced to the US in the late 1800’s. Today California grows the most persimmons in the United States. The Hachiya persimmon is known for its acorn like shape and reddish-orange hue when mature. They also share Vitamin C, antioxidants, Vitamin A, and other key nutrients that provide health benefits. Sweeter than most persimmon varieties, Hachiyas have a honeyed flavor with hints of brown sugar, cinnamon, mangos, raisins, and apricots. They’re not very common to find but have quickly become a California favorite.
